Osprey Ashurst Lake within the Coconino National Forest is our favorite fishing spot near Flagstaff, Arizona, and my favorite area to observe osprey. While my family members mind their poles and bobbers, my attention is on these amazing large birds. They eat mostly fish, and they can hover for a long while to find them. My son described the most as that “of a very big hummingbird.” I heard one call for the first time yesterday, and the the high pitched piercing cry does not match the grandeur of this raptor.  http://arizona.sierraclub.org/conservation/wildlife/Osprey%20fact%20sheet.pdf
